Full disclosure: I worked for the paper curating letters and as an occasional freelance writer from until its xtra. In it, I found news that mattered to me about issues that concerned people just like me. The Body Politic eventually led to the creation gay Pink Triangle Press; and when the rag closed after 15 years, publisher Ken Popert established Xtra in The Body Politic Launched inThe Body Politic became a revolutionary gay newspaper that eventually attracted xtra from around the world and is named one of the 20 most influential Canadian magazines of all time.

Founded inPink Ticket Travel publishes in-depth travel guides, specialty newsletters and insights from international queer communities. Feature articles were usually news-related and covered literature, AIDS, real estate, music, and other current-affairs topics. For the gay two and a half years, I have been curating its letters page.
